EAT. DRINK. DAIRY.
PLANT-BASED MILK MEETS NUTRITIONAL NEEDS
Plant-based beverage brand Califia Farms launched Califia Farms Complete, a creamy plant milk with nine essential nutrients, eight grams of protein, all nine essential amino acids, and half the sugar of dairy milk, the Los Angeles-based company says. Made from a special blend of pea, chickpea, and fava bean protein, Califia Farms Complete offers consumers a way to meet their nutritional needs — all from plant sources. Nutritionally comparable to dairy, one eight-ounce serving of Califia Farms Complete contains the same amount of the nine essential nutrients as an eight-ounce serving of dairy milk, the company says. This includes protein, calcium, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin B12, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and riboflavin. Califia Farms Complete is Non-GMO Project Verified, free from allergens, and is available in refrigerated cases at Target, Walmart, and other retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $6.69 for a 40-ounce, multi-serve bottle.
REIMAGINED ICE CREAM HONORS FOUNDERS
Häagen-Dazs unveiled two new flavors: New York Strawberry Cheesecake and Vanilla Caramel Pecan. The cheesecake flavor is inspired by Rose and Reuben Mattus, who founded the ice cream brand in 1960 after emigrating from Poland to start a new life in New York City. Vanilla Caramel Pecan — known as “Pralines & Cream” in Häagen-Dazs Shops — has been reimagined for more decadence. It features creamy vanilla ice cream paired with gooey caramel sauce and caramelized toasted pecans. The New York Strawberry Cheesecake combines velvety creamy cheesecake ice cream with a swirl of sweet strawberry sauce and soft spiced graham cracker crust pieces. Each new flavor embraces the Häagen-Dazs founding spirit to create the highest-quality, most indulgent ice cream as a way to inspire the world to slow down. The new flavors are available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $6.49 for a 14-ounce pint.

MEDITERRANEAN LABNEH CHECKS ALL THE BOXES
Atlanta-based Yaza is introducing American consumers to its traditional Mediterranean labneh, a versatile dairy product for spreading, dipping and more. And to keep up with consumer trends for sustainable packaging, the company is using Greiner Packaging’s K3 sustainable cardboard-plastic cup. Offering many nutritional benefits, labneh is typically found in Mediterranean diets and is made from fresh milk that is strained until it forms a smooth consistency perfect for dipping and spreading. Additionally, Yaza Labneh is all-natural, low-fat, high in protein, probiotic-rich and contains no preservatives or added sugars. Labneh’s versatile flavor makes it a healthy substitute for cream cheese, sour cream and dips like hummus. Yaza Founder Karim Khalil said: “We firmly believe in the authenticity of our food, emphasizing both flavor and ingredients. This entails a steadfast commitment to excluding chemicals, preservatives, and added sugars from our labneh.” Yaza’s premium labneh is available in 12-ounce K3 cups in Plain, Za’atar & Olive Oil and Spicy Chili flavors.
TAPPING INTO NOSTALGIA
From Barbie and the *NYSNC reunion to flared jeans, it’s clear that consumers crave products that deliver nostalgia, according to Chobani. Ahead of National Cereal Day (March 7), the Norwich, N.Y.-based company launched its limited-batch Cereal Oatmilk. The naturally flavored oatmilk has a toasted, sweet graham flavor that can be added to coffee, oatmeal or poured over cereal for an extra splash of flavor, the company says. “Our fans love our classic oatmilks, but we do like to dabble in some fun with our limited batch, flavored oatmilks,” says Adam Croissant, vice president of research and development at Chobani. He explains that the R&D team in Twin Falls, Idaho, taste-tested nearly 20 different bowls of cereal with flavor notes from fruity and chocolatey to grain-based before narrowing it down to six potential varieties before landing on the perfect version. Chobani Cereal Oatmilk is available for a limited time for a suggested retail price of $3.99 for a 32-ounce carton.
