Packaging Technologies
Easily one of the biggest components on the path to sustainability is packaging. Without advancements in packaging, it would be extremely difficult for dairy processors to meet their future sustainability goals.

Processing Technologies
Sustainability will no doubt be a big component of the plant of the future, but that is not the only thing dairy processors are envisioning. The big buzzword of artificial intelligence (AI) is sure to affect dairy plants in the future, along with other pressing factors.

INSIDE THE PLANT: Suntado
Dairy Foods learned how one fluid milk contract manufacturer, Suntado LLC, in partnership with Tetra Pak U.S. and Canada, is collaborating to meet surging demand for aseptic/ultra-high temperature (UHT) and extended shelf life (ESL) beverages that provide a sustainable solution for the dairy industry’s pressing challenges.

OUTLOOK REPORT
Ethical sourcing of ingredients by dairy processors is becoming more widespread and essential. With brands, consumers, associations and government agencies giving a greater focus to sustainability, animal welfare and fair labor practices, operators are under pressure to partner with suppliers that function in a virtuous manner.

Ingredient Technologies
Achieving ingredient traceability depends on many factors such as longstanding, sustainable relationships with farmers and suppliers, accurate data collection and record keeping, as well as the type of raw material needed. These factors are key to preventing food recalls and assuring the foods we eat are safe and healthy.
