Stonyfield Organic crafts shelf-stable single-serve milk; Chobani unveils first RTD coffee line; Shamrock Farms combines chocolate milk with plant-based protein in new hybrid beverage.

SHELF-STABLE SINGLE-SERVE MILK

Stonyfield Organic, Londonderry, N.H., says it introduced organic, shelf-stable and lactose-free single-serve milk. Available nationwide, the ready-to-drink 8-ounce bottles currently come in two options: 2% reduced-fat Chocolate milk and 2% reduced-fat Plain milk. Each of Stonyfield’s milk singles offers 8 grams of protein and nine essential nutrients. They are available in either a 12-pack format or individual bottles; the 12-pack has a suggested retail price of $13.99 ($12.00 at Walmart), and the individual 8-ounce bottles have a suggested retail price ranging from $1.00 to $1.30.

CEREAL-INSPIRED CREAMERS

White Plains, N.Y.- and Broomfield, Colo.-based Danone North America says it added Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles flavors to its International Delight line of coffee creamers. According to the company, the coffee creamers capture the fun and magic of the cereal, which was inspired by “The Flintstones.” The International Delight Fruity Pebbles flavor delivers a sweet, fruity taste, while the Cocoa Pebbles variety is perfect for anyone who wants to start their day the chocolatey way. The creamers are available now at retailers nationwide for a limited time.

RTD COLD-BREW COFFEES

Chobani, Norwich, N.Y., launched Chobani Coffee — a ready-to-drink line of coffees crafted with single-origin cold brew and featuring Chobani’s “oatmilks” and dairy creamers. The line is available in four flavors: Cold Brew Pure Black (no sugar, no dairy), Cold Brew with Sweet Creamer and Cold Brew with Vanilla (each made from farm-fresh milk), and Cold Brew with “Oatmilk” (made with gluten-free oats). The “oatmilk” and creamers in the cold brews are inspired by the company’s existing Chobani Oat and Chobani coffee creamer platforms. Chobani Coffee provides the caffeine equivalent to a standard cup of coffee — containing about 85 milligrams of caffeine per serving. Available nationwide, the suggested retail price for Chobani Coffee is $4.49 per 32-ounce multi-serve size or two for $7 on promotion, Chobani says.

FUNCTIONAL CHEESE SNACKS

Babybel, a brand of Chicago-based Bel Brands USA Inc., introduced a range of functional dairy snacks in February in two varieties: Babybel Plus+ Probiotic and Babybel Plus+ Vitamins. Bel Brands says Babybel Plus+ Probiotic contains billions of live and active cultures of the LGG probiotics strain, with evidence to suggest immune health benefits when consumed as a part of balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. Babybel Plus+ Vitamins is a good source of vitamins A and B12, which are known to support eye health and metabolism, respectively. Babybel Plus+ contains no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors. Babybel Plus+ Probiotic and Babybel Plus+ Vitamins are available in six-count packages with a suggested retail price of $4.49.

MILK, PLANT-BASED HYBRID BEVERAGE

Shamrock Farms, Phoenix, introduced Swirled — a chocolate milk that blends creamy dairy and natural plant-based ingredients. The company says the indulgent hybrid offers the best of both worlds: real chocolate milk and the reduced sugar and healthful fats found in coconut cream and almonds. Available in two flavors — Chocolate Coconut and Chocolate Almond Coconut — Swirled is a blend of cocoa, coconut cream and real almonds made with milk from Shamrock Farms' family of local farms. With less sugar than the leading chocolate milk, Swirled has a silky-smooth texture, contains nine essential nutrients and is free of artificial colors, ingredients, sweeteners and growth hormones such as rBST.

SINGLE-SERVE NOVELTIES

Eugene, Ore.-based Alden’s Organic is now packaging its top-selling novelties into a single-serve format. Alden’s Organic says the new format offers retailers an organic snack option for their shoppers. The three new items include two dairy-based options and one dairy-free variety. Classic Fudge bar features organic cocoa and fresh organic cream. The company is also offering its Old School Vanilla ice cream sandwich, which is creamy organic vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate wafers. Finally, Alden’s is producing the single-serve Dairy Free Vanilla Bean Round Sammie, which is organic vanilla bean frozen dessert scooped between two chocolate cookie wafers.

HIGH-PROTEIN YOGURT LINE

Danone North America says its new Oikos Pro line of yogurt products delivers on consumer requests for more high-quality protein. The line includes products in cup and drink form that are scientifically formulated to provide the protein, minerals and essential amino acids needed to help build and maintain strong muscles and bones. Oikos Pro 5.3-ounce cups contain 20 grams of protein, while Oikos Pro 10-ounce drinks contain 25 grams of protein. Single-serve yogurt cups come in Vanilla, Strawberry, Mixed Berry and Peach flavors. The cultured dairy drinks come in Strawberry Banana, Mixed Berry, Caramel Macchiato and Coffee flavors. Additionally, the Oikos Pro drinks in Caramel Macchiato and Coffee flavors contain 100 milligrams of caffeine per 8 fluid ounces, which is equivalent to one cup of coffee.

CHEDDAR WITH PHILANTHROPIC TWIST

Central Point, Ore.-based Rogue Creamery added Cheese is Love cheddar. According to the company, the extra-mature sharp cheddar allows Rogue fans the chance to help give back; for every pound of Cheese is Love cheddar purchased, a pound will be donated to the families in need. For months, Rogue Creamery has donated thousands of pounds of cheese to nonprofits and food banks. However, as a small artisan cheese company, it needed a way to keep up with its community’s needs, so the idea of Cheese is Love cheddar was born. Cheese is Love cheddar is available at Rogue Creamery Cheese Shop in Central Point, the Rogue Creamery farm stand in Grants Pass, Ore., and at www.roguecreamery.com.
